ever wondered about the process of film credit design? i happened across this fantastic web site while on the hunt for "who designed the credits for sherlock holmes?" and low and behold here we have...Art of the Title. the site also, incidentally, links to credits from other films...see the right side column for others.
i'm taking a watercolor painting class this semester and was looking for unusual inspiration when i was reminded of the credits from this film, which have a watercolor-esque feel to them. so much of the watercolor work i have seen revolves around the usual flora, fauna & french countryside motifs and i, frankly, have no interest in these kind of subjects. as a designer i'm looking for ways to push this medium into a more graphic class that will hopefully enrich & expand the typical experience with watercolor. i'll keep you posted on the progess....
