so there's this photographic technology now available that allows users to capture images in gigapixels, a gigapixel being an image that contains 1 billion pixels. so the cool factor is that you can zoom into a photo super far with excellent clarity. this boils down to taking a photo of a skyline and being able to zoom in so far that you can see someone's license plate. Carnegie Mellon, NASA & Google are to thank for this development. here are some examples of a 360 gigapixel panorama. amazing.
